Anti-Bulling and Cyber bullying Awareness

Anti-Bulling and Cyber bullying Awareness

Parents/Guardians please see our new Anti-Bullying and IT Acceptable Use policy. Our approach to these areas is to encourage students to act responsibly and treat each other with respect. Our main strategy is to educate young people about their rights and responsibilities in this area. This is done specifically in their Social, Personal and Health Education( SPHE) and in Digital Media Literacy(DML) class. It is also done across the curriculum in different subjects such as English, CSPE, Religion, History, Modern European Languages amongst others. In addition to this, all Junior Students have been informed of the email address respect@phcol.ie to outline incidents where they were treated with respect and to report incidents which they believe to be bullying.

In the area of Internet safety and Cyber bullying can we recommend the Webwise resources as these have excellent short information sections on all things social media and safe internet use.

If you are concerned about any issues or if you want to report an incident which you believe to be bullying, please email respect@phcol.ie
