Letter from Principal 5/1/22

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

Happy New Year to you all.

As we look forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow we would like to go through a few important points with you.

We are opening the school tomorrow with the highest levels of Covid to date. Please work with us to keep everyone in the school community as safe as possible.

Most importantly, please do not send your young person to school if they have Covid symptoms or are a close contact.

Please strongly encourage them to wear a good quality mask in school and to wear it correctly, ie, covering nose and mouth.

If coming to school by bus, it is essential that masks are worn.

While taking a mask break outdoors at break time it is important to remain at least 2 metres away from friends.

Please encourage them to work with us in implementing all of the safety measures in the school.

Ventilation has proved really important in preventing the spread of Covid so we will continue to have the top windows in classrooms open. Please encourage your young person to wear layers to keep warm and to ensure their school jumper is the top layer.

Finally, we are reopening with a high number of staff unavailable for in school teaching. Work will be posted on Google Classroom but we ask you to bear with us as it is highly likely that many classes will be supervised by substitute teachers in the coming weeks.

May I thank you for your ongoing support and assure you that despite challenging times we will continue to do our very best educationally for all of our students.

Sincerely,

Caroline Herity

Principal
