Parents Association Letter 19/04/21

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As another School Year draws to an end, on behalf of the Parents Association of Piper’s
Hill College I would like to thank parents and guardians for their continued support over the
past year. Even though the current restriction due to Covid 19 has limited the actions of the
PA, our presence is still ongoing and we have continued working in the background via
zoom meetings.

All parents and guardians of students in the school are members of the Parents
Association by affiliation. We would like to stress how important your involvement in the
parent’s association is as everything we do is to benefit all students here at Piper’s Hill.

New members are always welcome and I would encourage all parents/ guardians to
become involved in any way they can. We are now asking present and parents of
incoming students to consider joining the Parents Association committee for the upcoming
academic school year. We would hope to have at least one parent representative from
each school year on the PA Committee moving forward.

At these meetings the school communication provides a full monthly report on all activities
in the school and information on any initiatives and upcoming events. This provides a
perfect opportunity to all parents to get an insight into what the school has to offer your son
or daughter. The school also asks regularly for our input and feedback on School Policies.

Over previous years we have been involved with arranging the First Year Coffee morning
for new parents. We have also assisted with the Welcome Night, Open Night, School
Musical, Transition Year Job Interviews and supporting students with their debs ball
arrangements. Our latest fundraiser project was to provide Anti Glare Blinds for the
classrooms to enhance the use of the iPads and we hope to resume this when restrictions
permit. We also have a Library subcommittee in place to help manage and run the School
Library for the use of our children which always welcomes new members. There is also a
Subcommittee for Road Traffic Safety on the campus which will request regular updates
on any information regarding the resolution of the traffic issues at the site.

If you feel you are not in a position to become a Committee Member but would like to help
out from time to time you might consider becoming an Associate Member so when we
need extra help we could call on you.

Our meetings take place once per school calendar month and take approximately an hour.
The dates of these meetings are on the school website, www.phcol.ie/parents and on our
facebook page, ’Piper’s Hill College Parents’ Association’. Currently these meetings are
being held as Zoom Calls. Our final meeting of this year is Wednesday 12th May 2021 at
7pm. If you are interested in joining, please contact us at parents@phcol.ie and we will
include you on our mailing list.

Kind regards,

Margaret Fennessy

PA Chairperson.
