Behaviour for Learning Program

Overcoming the challenges and obstacles presented in daily school life is within the capability of the majority of students. For those students who struggle significantly with the various challenges and obstacles in the school environment, we can provide extra support known as the Behaviour for Learning (BFL) programme.

Students who are offered a place on the BFL programme may present with a variety of challenging behaviours, including social skills deficits; low self-esteem; difficult relationships with adults/peers and poor concentration and attention difficulties in most subjects. Many of the students are also persistently at risk of suspension and/or expulsion.

The BFL teacher works with students using programmes that are designed to meet their social, emotional, well-being, behavioural and academic needs, so they can achieve in school. The BFL programme also includes early intervention approaches for all students i.e. NBSS level 1 support and targeted groups at support level 2.
